Modern Ritual

Where memory
meets method

In the central coast of Vietnam, in provinces like Phú Yên where sea grape trees line the shore, artisans work with what the land offers: fallen leaves from sea grape and palm, cleaned and pressed into form. No chemicals. No harvest. Just craft passed through generations, and material that returns to the earth.

Gathering

Fallen leaves are collected in the early hours, when natural moisture helps preserve their integrity.

Selection

Each leaf is inspected for grain, thickness, and the distinct patterns formed during its natural fall and drying.

Pressing

Heat and pressure — refined through long-practiced technique — shape the material without chemicals or binders.

Finishing

Edges are trimmed and surfaces hand-refined, preserving the character of the original leaf.
