AGREEMENT OF PURCHASE

Agreement to Terms

By placing an order with Là Lá, you enter into a binding agreement governed by these terms. We ask that you read them carefully before completing your purchase. If any provision is unclear, contact us before proceeding.

Là Lá operates under Canadian law and is registered in British Columbia. All transactions are processed in Canadian dollars unless otherwise specified.

Product Specifications

Nature of Materials

Each piece is handcrafted from naturally fallen palm sheaths. Variations in grain, colour, and texture are natural characteristics of the palm sheath. No two pieces will be identical.

Product dimensions and weights are approximate. Minor variations occur due to the handmade production process and the material’s natural properties.

Photography & Representation

Images displayed on our website represent the general character of our products, but cannot capture every natural variation. Screen settings may affect colour perception. We photograph our pieces under natural light to provide the most accurate representation possible.

Made to Order

All items are produced after your order is placed. Production timelines vary based on the specific pieces requested and current workshop capacity. We will confirm the expected completion date when you place your order.

Pricing & Payment

Currency & Fees

All prices are listed in Canadian dollars. Your financial institution may apply currency conversion fees or foreign transaction charges. These are beyond our control and are your responsibility.

Payment Processing

Payment is required at the time of order. We accept major credit cards and other payment methods as indicated at checkout. Your payment information is processed securely through our payment provider. We do not store credit card details.

Pricing Changes

Prices may change without notice. The price confirmed at the time of your order is the price you will pay, regardless of subsequent changes.

Shipping & Delivery

Shipping Costs

Shipping fees are calculated based on destination, package weight, and selected delivery method. These costs are displayed at checkout before you complete your purchase.

Delivery Timelines

Estimated delivery dates are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to customs processing, carrier issues, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for delays caused by third parties.

International Orders

International shipments may be subject to import duties, taxes, and customs fees determined by the destination country. These charges are your responsibility and are not included in our pricing. Customs processing times vary by jurisdiction.

Delivery Acceptance

Upon delivery, inspect your package immediately. If the packaging appears damaged, note this with the carrier before accepting. If you discover damage after acceptance, photograph the packaging and contents, then contact us within 48 hours.

Returns & Exchanges

General Policy

Due to the custom-made nature of our products, we do not accept returns or exchanges except for manufacturing defects or shipping damage. We encourage you to review your order carefully before completing your purchase.

Damaged Items

If an item arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours with photographs of the damage and the original packaging. We will arrange for a replacement. Claims submitted after 48 hours may not be honoured.

Manufacturing Defects

If you believe an item has a manufacturing defect, contact us with a detailed description and photographs. We will assess the issue and determine an appropriate resolution. Natural variations in the material are not considered defects.

Intellectual Property

All content on the Là Lá website, including text, images, designs, and logos, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

Product designs and the Là Lá brand are proprietary. While the traditional techniques we use are part of Vietnamese cultural heritage, our specific applications and presentations are protected intellectual property.

Limitation of Liability

Our liability is limited to the purchase price of the products you ordered. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our products or website.

While we take care in crafting each piece, the palm sheath is an organic material with inherent limitations. We do not warrant that products will be suitable for any particular purpose beyond everyday tableware use.

Governing Law

The laws of British Columbia, Canada, govern these terms. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of British Columbia. By placing an order, you consent to the jurisdiction of these courts.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Changes become effective when posted to our website. Your continued use of our website or placement of orders after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

Orders placed before a change in terms will be governed by the terms in effect at the time of purchase.
